It's been raining since yesterday evening. Doesn't stop me from heading to the Café De L'est for a good cup of coffee! Spent an hour or two there sipping café Americano and watching the traffic and people. If nothing else, France is a great place to people-watch. The extremes of fashion are fantastic, and even some of the older crowd get into the various styles.

I haven't seen or heard of one auto accident yet, which surprises me. The intersection in front of café de L'est is a prime example. a typical four way intersection, but with no traffic lights. The cars are zipping around the corner even while other cars are merging from the other directions. A few horns honk, but it's amazing that no accidents occur.

Met with a group of teenagers at the café that are from St. Louis, MO. They're here on a summer break vacation, and their matron, Margo, was very nice. They needed a little direction on how to get to the Louvre, which I was happy I could help with. The metro (for the most part an underground rail system) is so easy to use, I was able to pretty much memorize the routes to the main sights within a couple days.So I was able to tell them the easiest way to transfer from the #4 to the #6 metro rails, and hopefully they got there OK.. The signs in the metro stations (which can be extremely spread out underground) aren't always helpful to a newbie, but once you get the gist of the layout, it's not too bad.

Well, gonna go check out a few shops while they're open today. Gotta pick up something for the girls while I'm here, and today's a perfect day for hopping in and out of the shops.

Have a great day! I know I will!
